Benefit Services of Hawaii, Inc. (BSHI) is the life agency affiliated with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawaii (Hawaii Medical Service Association). Established as an employee benefit agency, BSHI markets group and voluntary products through USAble Life, including group term life and long term disability insurance. BSHI has a staff of licensed representatives who sell and enroll voluntary products independently and in conjunction with Cafeteria Plans (Section 125). BSHI also actively markets Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) to Hawaii employers by processing claims from its Honolulu office. As an equity partner in USAble Life, HMSA owns 10% of the Company.
