Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer


Mark Langston is a high energy and results oriented senior executive.  He is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Life and Specialty Ventures, L.L.C. (LSV), and its affiliate, USAble Life. LSV is a holding company with over $400 million in annual revenue and 600 employees, which is owned by five Blue Cross Plans throughout the country.  Langston has a unique blend of business strategy and operational skills that has driven top performance throughout his career.  Not only is he regarded for his ability to identify profitable opportunities and capitalizing on them, but he is at his best taking creative ideas and shaping them into actionable activities to achieve results.

Langston brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial arena serving in leadership positions and as a financial advisor and strategist. Throughout his career, Langston has provided financial guidance on numerous transactions related to the purchase of companies and/or blocks of business.  In his current role, Langston is accountable for ensuring the company maintains overall financial strength and stability through effective cost accounting, forecasting, and asset management.  He is also charged with assisting in strategy development and execution to significantly grow the company.

Prior to Langston’s role at LSV, he served as Chief Financial Officer for USAble Life. In this capacity, he was accountable for the finance, legal and human resources areas. Under his leadership, USAable Life expanded its portfolio of business including the purchase of a general insurance and consulting agency and a flexible reimbursement administration company.

The foundation of Langston’s career began at Deloitte & Touche where he spent nearly nine years in the audit practice and achieved the title of Senior Manager.  He was highly successful at practice development bringing-in many new clients in a variety of industries.  Langston also participated in numerous part-time engagements at the firms’ national office where his expertise in financial institutions was utilized in the development of audit programs and other firm resources.

After Deloitte & Touche, Langston joined Central Arkansas Bancshares as its Chief Financial Officer.  In this new role for the bank-holding company, Langston shaped the position to oversee both the financial and audit/compliance functions for four underlying banks.  He was also instrumental in growing the business and the acquisition of an additional bank.  Next he moved to Alltel Information Services, Inc. where he worked on special projects ranging from process engineering to facilitating problem solving meetings in a cutting-edge Electronic Meeting Room.  His experience also includes the International Department with responsibility for project accounting for large customers around the globe.  Following Alltel, Langston joined the public accounting firm of Rasco Burris & Winter where he developed new services for the firm including “CFO for Hire”, accounting software consulting, profitability coaching, strategic planning and advanced financial analysis.  He also managed the audit practice for the firm.
