Group Long Term Disability

While some people could get by without working for two to three months, few people can afford to stop working for an extended period. LTD coverage, often referred to as ‘paycheck protection,’ usually begins after the elimination period has been satisfied. Policy features include rehabilitation, family care credits, three-month survivor benefit and workplace modification. LTD coverage is available if Group Term Life/AD&D or STD is selected.

Minimum Participation

Non-contributory: 100% if the employer pays the entire cost.
Contributory: 75% if the employees contribute to cost.


Benefit Percentage

Recommended: 60%
Options: 50%, 66 2/3%


Maximum Monthly Benefit

Standard maximum: $6,000.
The maximum monthly benefit will be based on the average monthly salaries of the five highest paid employees.


Elimination Periods

Recommended: 90 or 180 days.
Options: 120, 150, 360 days

Options: Primary only or 70% all sources
