Short Term Disability


When employees can’t work, it puts pressure on everyone. Short Term Disability (STD) insurance helps them continue to meet financial obligations when they’re out of work due to childbirth, illness, or injury. It also helps protect your greatest investment. By providing the opportunity for employees to meet financial obligations when they are unable to clock in, you’re opening the door for them to come back.

RETURN TO WORK

If an employee returns to work part-time, or in rehabilitative employment, we will not reduce the benefit unless his or her part-time earnings and benefit total more than 100% of earnings prior to disability.

EXPRESS CLAIMS PAYMENT

Under this option, employees may receive their benefit in a lump sum, based on medical duration guidelines, rather than weekly benefit payments.2

FICA

For a group with 50+ lives electing FICA matching, we will deposit the company’s and employee’s portions of FICA taxes from taxable benefits paid to claimants and print and email your claimant’s W-2 form for STD benefits.

This service offers access to thousands of helpful resources for your employees and works to reduce absenteeism and enhance employee productivity. EAP services are offered online to our group disability customers. Employers may also select a face-to-face option.
