Carrying the Torch for IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity

Before

Successful cybersecurity programs require leadership by experienced professionals. USAble Life is lucky to have that experience in-house with Nick Tzanev. For more than 20 years, Nick has been a key player in developing USAble Life’s web and digital presence. After spending two decades helping to build the company’s web self-service platforms, Nick has most recently been tasked with directing the company’s cybersecurity program.

“I’m particularly proud that I helped develop AccessAbleSM, USAble Life’s online administration platform. It was one of the first generations of tools I worked on. It’s a real differentiator now. It even won the FIS Impact Award,” says Nick.

Nick’s appreciation for the opportunity his USAble Life internship provided motivated him to pay it forward by spearheading USAble Life’s internship programs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and the University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville, Fla. UALR even awarded USAble Life with a Community Partner award.

“I’m proud of the work I’m doing now with Florida State Community College’s Business and Industry Leadership Team,” says Nick. “It takes community college engagement with companies like ours to the next level. You can find many talented people in community colleges who have experience in different industries — and life experiences — that have taught them valuable skills that can be applied to many jobs currently in demand, like cybersecurity. I’m interested in working with community colleges to discover talent and provide their students with a pathway to a fulfilling career that doesn’t require a Ph.D.”

“Nick’s tenure and success speak volumes about his commitment and loyalty to USAble Life, our partners, and our customers,” says Kendall Kirby, senior vice president, IT. “He’s demonstrated an unwavering commitment to understanding and fulfilling the needs of our customers through his vision and work on AccessAble. Nick is now spearheading efforts to improve our corporate security, hybrid work technologies, data center, and telecommunication. His contributions have had, and will no doubt continue to have, a positive impact on the company’s reputation and bottom line.”

“I enjoy making new things and rallying people,” Nick says. “I like being the first person to run into a cave with a torch.” Having a torchbearer like Nick onboard to steer us past any cyber pitfalls gives USAble Life a significant advantage for safely achieving continued growth and success.
